— Fishing Forecast
A Calculator,
Not an Oracle
A seven-day, per-species, per-hour Bite Activity Index from 0 to 100. Fourteen documented factors are weighted by evidence tier, every score can be traced to its inputs, and your own logbook is used to check how well the forecast works for you.
The Problem
Fishing Forecasts Rarely Show Their Work
Black-Box Ratings
A single star rating cannot tell an angler why a day is good or which factor to watch.
One Size Fits All
Most tools ignore species, water type and local conditions, though each changes what matters.
Unverified Claims
Forecasts are seldom tested against the angler’s own results, so confidence has no basis.
The Solution
Evidence-Weighted, Species-Specific, Verifiable
Published data feed a scored model in which stronger evidence can carry more weight, and weaker evidence is capped.
Fourteen Factors
Water temperature, light, pressure, wind, lunar phase, solunar timing, tide and current, river flow, rain and turbidity, oxygen, sea state, season, stability and geomagnetic activity.
Evidence Tiers
Tiers A to D set weight caps within a 100-point budget, so weakly supported factors cannot dominate the score.
Any Species
Choose a built-in species or enter your own, with editable parameters; unlisted species use guild defaults.
Spots & Logbook
Save spots and log sessions, blanks included. The logbook builds a calibration table of predicted index against observed catch rate, with rank correlation, best judged after about thirty honest sessions.
Week Heatmap & Confidence
A week-at-a-glance heatmap with a confidence ribbon that shows how forecast certainty decreases over time.
Exports & Optional Narration
Export PDF, CSV or text; optionally add a written summary using your own language-model key, with every number checked against the computed values.
Architecture
From Spot to Plan
Choose Spot & Water
Select a saved or new location and one of seven water types, from pond and lake to river, estuary, coast, surf beach and offshore.
Choose a Species
Pick a species or define your own; the model adjusts factor weights accordingly.
Read the Week
Review hourly scores, the heatmap and the confidence ribbon, and see which factors drive each score.
Log & Validate
Record every session, including blanks, and read the calibration table to see how well the index matched your results.
How to Read the Index
The index describes conditions that research and angling experience associate with feeding activity. It is not a guarantee of fish being present or biting, and it is not a source of regulations. Always follow local fishing rules, seasons and limits.
Transparency
What to Remember
Not a Guarantee
The model scores conditions. It does not know whether fish are present or willing to feed.
Not Legal Guidance
Seasons, limits, licences and permitted methods vary and are the angler’s responsibility.
Believe Your Own Data
The logbook is designed to show where the forecast works for you and where it does not.
